Formula 7® Rapid MicroGel® is formulated to address the cause of macerated tissue rapidly and without the stinging effect of alcohol-based gels. Formula 7® Rapid MicroGel® is formulated with both antifungal and bactericidal drugs and fortified with anti-fungal and bactericidal ingredients, penetration enhancers, and cosmetic conditioners and astringents. The Soluble Tolnaftate in Formula 7® Rapid MicroGel® is indicated for 11 organisms. Maceration is defined as the softening and breaking down of skin resulting from prolonged exposure to moisture. It was first described by Jean-Martin Charcot in 1877. Under normal circumstances, epidermal tissue forms an effective barrier against the insult from our external environment. However, when the fungal infection causes the skin to become wet and white (maceration), the skin loses its ability to act as a barrier.

Prolonged exposure of the skin to excessive moisture can result in acute maceration. The outer, flattened layer of epidermal cells becomes rehydrated, causing swelling, and the bonds between the tissue planes weaken. This drastically alters their ability to withstand damage, particularly interdigital friction.

Formula 7® Rapid MicroGel® is formulated to address the cause of the macerated tissue rapidly.  Formula 7® Rapid MicroGel® liquefies at body temperature. Its penetration enhancers draw the tolnaftate into the site of involvement, its cosmetic conditioners and astringents dry the skin and help restore the barrier function of the skin.

Directions for using Formula 7^® Rapid MicroGel®

· STEP 1: CLEAN IT UP!

Clean the affected area and DRY thoroughly. Pay special attention to spaces between the toes. Don’t be in a rush to put on your shoes, let your feet air out.

· STEP 2: APPLY IT TWICE DAILY!

Apply Formula 7^® Rapid MicroGel® over the affected area twice daily (morning and night) or as directed by a doctor.  The gel will liquify at body temperature and be absorbed very quickly.

· STEP 3: CHANGE IT OFTEN!

Change your shoes and socks when your feet get wet or damp. Keep extra socks with you and change them when needed.

Wear well fitting, ventilated shoes. Buy absorbent or special synthetic socks that wick the perspiration from your feet.
